Okay, to backup what saying yeah, VPX is really damn good and a step up from the game systems.īut also, yeah, the faff is real, I managed to get Theatre of Magic working, but this is what I've learnt so far. ĭo you have a link to the DMD you have for yours (or able to zip and share?)
#LEGENDS PINBALL VPX PC#
It's easily moddable so you can hook up your PC and run VPX off of it. Here are a few links to these kinds of tables :Īnyone looking to pickup a budget physical virtual pin, the ATGames one seems to be the best one around. I would also recommend the Ghostbusters table instead of Slimer though but it's one of the few "banned" tables not available on VPU and VPF. I also suggest joining a few VP facebook groups - VP Junkies and VP Addicts are the ones I frequent and the guys there have helped me quite a bit. If you're having trouble with your UltraDMD, then just make sure the folder is in the same Tables folder and that you have the latest Freezy 1.9 installed. If you don't want to redo all the media for Pinup Popper, just copy the new table with the same name as the old one. I assume updating a table is as simple of popping the new files from the zip in place of the old ones?Īlso, have you updsated from JPs Ghostbuster's Slimer 2.10 to 3.01? I can't get my UltaDMD and Pup to work in the new version I did not know these virtual tables were a thing, that's logged for a distant future DIY Dumb question. Otherwise initially enjoying it and the challenges are enough to help learn the tables too. I fired this one up myself for some casual free table grinding, my one weird issue with it is the touch areas for the flippers stops just a bit lower than where my left thumb seems to want to end up on my 13 pro, I'll be eyeballing up that sweet launch and then miss the flip and watch the ball roll down the gap.

*top tip, if the advert opens full screen you have to watch it for 30 seconds, if it opens but you can still see the game running around the edges, tap on the edge to skip it completely
#LEGENDS PINBALL VPX PRO#
I've got all the tables opened up now, just grinding to unlock Pro Physics. I picked Funhouse which is a bit old and difficult so it took a while before I started making any progress.

#LEGENDS PINBALL VPX UPGRADE#
Once you get enough parts for a particular table you can unlock it for use in challenges, and then with even more parts you can upgrade it so you can play it normally in arcade mode.Ĭhoice of that first table is key, pick something easy like Getaway or Theater of Magic and you'll be able to smash all the challenges every time.

You then play challenges (one of 3 types, X score with a single ball, X score in 5 minutes and X score in 5 minutes but you need to hit a particular score every minute or it's game over) on that table over and over to grind out arcade tickets (the basic currency which you need for unlocking but also to refresh challenges which are on timers), Zen coins (currency for unlocking stuff) and table parts (which are used to unlock tables specifically). This is good cos (special offers aside) it looks like it would cost about a hundred quid for all 21īasically when you start you can pick 1 table to unlock.

It's chock full of freemium bullshit, lots of pointless cosmetics, FOUR different in-game currencies, watch adverts* for prizes but unlike Zen's other offerings you can actually unlock all the tables without spending any money. I've been playing a shitload of Williams Pinball on ios (for some reason I like playing pinball with a touch screen more than using real buttons on the switch, it's weird).
